Construction has begun on the Skokie Blvd./Golf Rd. Intersection Improvement Project
The overall work on this project will include roadway reconstruction and improvements to traffic signals, street lighting, pedestrian walkways and landscaping. The project includes construction at the entrance to the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts/DoubleTree Hotel off of Skokie Blvd. It is scheduled to be substantially complete in November, 2010. The Village of Skokie and the project team are committed to minimizing construction-related inconveniences to the extent possible. During this time, you will experience lane closures and traffic delays on Skokie Blvd. and Golf Rd. Access to the NSCPAS will be maintained throughout the duration of the project.
Helpful Tips to Avoid Delays:
During this time of construction, the main entrance at Skokie Boulevard will still be available, but we recommend alternate entrances to the facility. Just east of Skokie Blvd. on Golf Rd. there is an entrance available that leads directly to the NSCPAS parking lot and adjacent garage. Alternately, there is an entrance at Gross Point Rd. and Kenton (Niles Center Rd.) that conveniently leads to the second floor of the garage adjacent to the facility. The garage is available after 6pm Monday through Friday, and all day Saturday and Sunday. Once parked in the garage, you may use the elevator or stairs to reach the ground level and the walkway to the theatre.
We at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts will do everything we can to keep our patrons updated on the situation as developments are made.
There is ample parking available in the front and back of the building as well as a parking garage available to patrons after 6pm and on weekends.
