You are invited to a special preview performance of The Main Street Kids' Club: A MathStart Musical, a brand new children's musical based on six of the popular MathStart book series by Stuart J. Murphy. Written by Scott Ferguson and Michael Mahler this new show comes to us from Theatrebam Chicago, the producers of audience favorite Schoolhouse Rock Live!
Bring your kids and join us on Saturday, September 11 at 11:00 a.m. as we transform the stage of the Centre East Theatre into an intimate 100-seat studio theatre. Come early and meet author Stuart J. Murphy, who will be in the lobby before the show beginning at 10:00 a.m. to sign copies of his MathStart books.

10/31/2010 - Skokie Valley Symphony Orchestra CONCERT 1 Skokie Valley Symphony Orchestra

Our four-concert 49th season is full of variety with a little something for everyone. Our October concert includes Sibelius' Finlandia and Violin Concerto, featuring the first prize winner of our 30th Young Artist Competition, as well as Rachmaninoff's exciting second symphony. Our December concert includes another Rachminoff great--his second piano concerto, featuring the second prize winner from our Young Artist Competition. It also includes a very special treat: a semi-staged third act from Puccini's La Bohème. Our February concert is all Beethoven: Symphonies 3 and 8, incredibly beautiful and contrasting symphonies. And our May concert is full of waltzes and polkas from father and son Strauss, and ends with Tchaikovsky's wonderfully evocative Pathétique Symphony.
